Preparation

I'm studying abroad; in only four days to go to Quito and Cuenca, Ecuador for four weeks then down to Santiago, Chile for five months. I will also be visiting Argentina and Uruguay as a travel seminar.

While I have about four days left in the States, I am trying to spend most of the time I have left with family, friends, my dog Max and my boyfriend Mitch. I often catch myself wishing I had more time to hang out with everyone and see certain family members before my departure, but luckily I have Skype (if you want to chat, shoot me an email- kmmcke01@syr.edu- and we'll swap Skype names), even though it's not the same. Last night I threw Mitch a surprise 21st birthday party. Seeing as his 21st birthday is exactly a week after I leave (January 19), I wanted to be there to celebrate with him (sorta) and of course, give him a surprise because I love giving people surprises, especially him. So a bunch of my friends and Mitch's were there and it was fantastic to see everyone, most importantly one of my best friends Jayme who left for a semester in LA early this morning. I hope she sees the Kardashians... I want an autograph and/or picture sent to Ecuador or Chile! ;)

My mom and I have already decided that I must get the majority of my packing done tomorrow morning. To be honest, I'm looking forward to that. I love packing for trips... I just need to know that I can't pack EVERYTHING I want to pack; I have a rather large pile of stuff that I want to pack that's growing in my room...

So much to do, so little time, so I will leave it at that. To all of you who will be trying to keep up with me on here: I will try to update as much as I can. I know right now that I won't be able to access El Red (the Internet) in Ecuador so easily as I am able to while I'm home, so I'll try to update with my daily adventures here when I have time.

Until then...

Chau!
